Meet Gary

Gary has proudly called Marysville home for over 40 years, cherishing the small-town values that shaped his upbringing. He was among the first students to attend Marshall Elementary School and graduated from Lakewood High School in 1989. Coming from a long line of Union workers, Gary continued the tradition by attending trade school and becoming a certified Union Electrician (EL01). His commitment to the labor movement led him to serve as a Union Business Representative for IBEW Local 191. Today, he works as an Assistant Training Director for the local apprenticeship program, helping train and mentor the next generation of electricians. Gary was appointed to the Marysville Planning Commission by the Mayor in 2023. And appointed to be on the board of the Marysville RAP program (Regional Apprenticeship Pathways) by Local 191. Outside of work, Gary is an active member of his church and a passionate local musician performing at community events, charity fundraisers, and just for fun.

I’m running for Marysville City Council. Because I care deeply about our community. I currently serve on the Marysville Planning Commission. I believe that workers are the backbone of every strong city, and I’ve always stood with working families. As a proud union member for over 24 years, I understand firsthand the importance of working as a team, and I believe that when we support our youth through strong community programs, we invest in a better future for everyone.

I’m also a strong supporter of our police, fire, and EMS personnel, and I’m committed to working with each agency to ensure they have the resources they need to continue providing the excellent service our residents depend on.

While Marysville continues to grow, I want to ensure that we hold onto the small-town character that drew so many of us here in the first place. I believe in smart, responsible development  which supports local businesses, respects our neighborhoods, and keeps Marysville a welcoming place for all generations.

Family means everything to my wife Holly & I us. It’s that sense of family and community that drives me to serve. I want to help create a future here in Marysville where our children and grandchildren can thrive.

With my union background, community involvement, and deep commitment to Marysville’s future, I’m ready to bring thoughtful, steady leadership to Marysville City Council.
